If You’ve Been in an Accident

Regardless of what you have heard, when it comes to paying your claim, the insurance company is not on your side.  If an insurance company has wrongfully put its own self-interest ahead of your rights, we can help.  We have successfully handled claims for wrongful denial of life insurance benefits, health care benefits and fire loss, among others.  If the insurance company has tried to wrongfully avoid its responsibility, we can help.

TALK TO NO ONE:  Other than the police, talk to no one about your accident except one of the lawyers or investigators in our office. Don’t even talk to your own insurance company or to any lawyers hired by your own insurance company without notifying us so that we may be present if we desire. We will generally want statements taken in our office.

YOUR DOCTOR:  Immediately seek any necessary medical attention. You should return to each of your doctors as often as necessary and should always tell them about all of your complaints.

WAGES AND LOST EARNINGS:  Please keep an accurate record of all days lost from work because of your injuries.

RECORDS:  Keep a record of any expenses you may have in connection with your accident, such as the hiring of extra help.

CAR REPAIR:  Do not have your automobile repaired until you are sure that photographs of the damaged automobile have been obtained.

WITNESSES:  Furnish to us immediately the correct names, addresses, and telephone numbers of any and all witnesses you may learn of.

KEEP A JOURNAL:  Keep a diary of your pain, suffering and inconvenience. This will help you remember if a trial becomes necessary.
